No, this service is offered by the Society only to customers of the Society's current members

If my complaint / dispute has been lodged with, or is being/ has been considered by the Disputes Tribunal or a Court can I still use the Complaints Investigation Service?

ANSWER:

No, as these are already subject to legal process

What does the Guarantee cover?

ANSWER:

The guarantee is in two parts, it provides cover against substandard workmanship within identified parameters, and protection against the loss of advance payments made to a contractor who is unable to fulfil contractual obligations due to liquidation or bankruptcy.

QUESTION:

I've had a drainlayer relay a pipe for me the jobs great. But he has damaged the property next doors driveway he seems to not be interested in helping with the cost. Is there a way of dealing with this a third party or the like?

ANSWER:

The work involved may have meant he had no option but to disrupt the drive next door to solve your problem did he quote the job, did he know that access into the neighbours was necessary at the start. It may be that you have to wear costs it depends on the arrangement you had so more information is needed .We have a disputes mechanism to resolve issues but the correct procedure is required and costs are involved and we only get involved if the trades person belongs to the Master Plumbers

QUESTION:

We bought a 1950's house where the toilet was concreted into the floor. We have since removed toilet and wish to know the best way to get the floor level and for the toilet to be in line with plumbing. Are you able to give us some advice on who to contact to help us with this?

ANSWER:

It sounds like your floor needs to be plastered or concreted over removed toilet area you also need a plumber as your outlet sewer pipe may have to be altered by law you need a certified plumber to do this work for you we can recommend some if you wish.

QUESTION:

Our client is interested in installing a rain tank for potable use. I am currently following a number of guidelines in designing the size of the rain water tank. Their proposed house is to contain 8 bedrooms. Could you please provide me any additional information on the design of rain tanks for potable use?

ANSWER:

Obtain a list of the "Eco Plumbers' from Master Plumbers, they should be involved in tanks.
